To understand the mobile payment market and find a competitive advantage, a competitive analysis looked at current key players. It made clear to us that NFC technology was expensive for merchants and not a universal feature on all phones. This part of the process helped inform our survey questions and design decisions. 


Our survey results helped us determine the main ways people use Foursquare:
